NYTS Qualifier

While it was rainy here in Houston over the weekend they had clear skies for miles in Midland, TX where 6 of our HPC Interscholastic players competed in the National Youth Tournament Series Qualifier. NYTS Qualifiers are held at polo clubs across the country for interscholastic aged players to compete in outdoor polo tournaments culminating in a NYTS Championship Tournament. These qualifiers foster teamwork and friendly competition for interscholastic aged players to develop their polo skills playing with their peers. HPC will host its very own NYTS Qualifier June 8th, 9th &10th.

Anson Moore sends the ball down the field with Joanie Jackson on the defense

During Saturday’s play Cara Kennedy and Joe Mack Stimmel took to the field to play for the Lazy 3 Polo Team and beat out Midland natives, Evan’s Ranch Polo Team, to move on to the Finals held on Sunday. Saturday afternoon consisted of Russo’s Polo Team featuring Anson Moore and Bridget Price against Joanie Jackson and Lance Stefanakis of the Horsegate Polo Team. It was Russo’s Polo Team with the win over Horsegate Polo Team to play in the Finals.

Sunday’s Finals was a spectacular event with Cara Kennedy and Joe Mack Stimmel of Lazy 3 Polo Team edging out Anson Moore and Bridget Price of Russo’s Polo Team 6-3. The consolation match was Evan’s Ranch Polo Team defeating Joanie Jackson and Lance Stefanakis of the Horsegate Polo Team by one goal, 5-4. NYTS All-Stars were awarded to Anson Moore, Lance Stefanakis, and Joe Mack Stimmel. Best Playing Pony was awarded to Tatu owned by Horsegate.
